2015-2016 Purple Ribbon Campaign

Healthy relationships and right relations do not include violence.

The Purple Ribbon Campaign Against Violence (Campagne du ruban violet contre la violence) was initiated by the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women in 1991 to remember the 14 women who were murdered at L’École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1purple ribbon campaign bookmarks989, and to raise awareness about violence against women.


Memorial Services for Victims of Violence

Charlottetown:
The Montreal Massacre Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 4th, 12 noon at the Confederation Centre Memorial Hall. The focus of the service will be honouring front-line workers, those essential people who often make crucial and positive interventions at times of trauma. The people who say “I believe you.” The people who offer compassionate and practical support. The people who often save lives in our community. The Advisory Council will be offering small gifts in gratitude to front-line workers in appreciation.

Guest Speaker: Ann Sherman, Chairperson, Premier’s Action Committee on Family Violence Prevention
St. Paul’s Church , corner of Notre Dame and Central Street ( directly across from the court house )
