Bursary Deadline is October 15

Bursary Deadline is October 15th!

Each year, the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women awards several bursaries for post-secondary education.

There are three bursaries awarded by the Advisory Council on the Status of Women for women to continue their studies at university or college. One bursary is available at each the University of Prince Edward Island. Holland College, and Collège de l’Acadie. These bursaries are designed to support women who are returning to education after a gap and are caring for children on their own.

A fourth Advisory Council bursary, named for late Council vice-chairperson Inge Blackett, supports ongoing studies for a woman who has immigrated to Canada.

Check out our bursary website page for information and application forms.

Deadline: October 15th

A fifth bursary, managed by the PEI government and UPEI, is the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women Engineering Bursary for Women. It is awarded to a woman entering third-year engineering at UPEI in recognition and support of women pursuing non-traditional fields. The bursary was established in 1995 by the Government of PEI on the Twentieth Anniversary of the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women. The bursary supports the Council’s work to encourage young women to choose careers in math and science fields and also pays tribute to the fourteen women engineering students who were murdered at L’Ecole Polytechnique in 1989. The bursary is administered through Student Services at UPEI.  For more information about this Engineering bursary, call 566-0358. Deadline: October 15th
