1.  Come Play Prize Bingo for Citizen Advocacy!

On Tuesday, March 27th, 7.00 p.m. PEI Citizen Advocacy’s 11th annual prize bingo fundraiser will take place at Bingo Country on Riverside Drive…..with prizes valued at over $3,000 .

This is a fun evening for everyone, even if you’ve never played bingo before! The celebrity caller will be KIRK MACKINNON of Ocean 100.  Only $20 for admission and cards. Please come along, have a lot of fun and support a great cause!

2.   Writing Winning Proposals – New Course Offering from the Centre for Life-Long Learning, April 27, 2012

Are you continuously writing proposals and starting from scratch each time? Would you like to build confidence in your proposal writing skills and develop a streamlined approach to increase your effectiveness? Or maybe you’ve never even written a proposal before.

Writing Winning Proposals is designed to offer participants real life experiences and examples of proposal writing. A six-pronged proposal model will be discussed and practiced to enable participants to respond to the what, how, who and how much questions which make up RFP (request for proposal) criteria.

1. Folk Dancing in Bonshaw March 18

Regular monthly Folk Dancing is at the Bonshaw Community Centre, 25 Green Road, on Sunday, March 18th from 2-4pm. Come learn folk dances from around the world, including circle dances and contra dances. No partner or experience is necessary—dances are called and easy. All ages are welcome. Bonshaw Ceilidh March 25th

The monthly Ceilidh Concert at the Bonshaw Hall is set for 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 25th. Special guest performers are Blue Persuasion, a bluegrass and gospel group made up of Rob Arsenault, Audrey Barlow, Gary Mills, and Emily and Vans Bryant. We’ll also have local musicians, including Herbie MacDonald, Ruth Lacey, Hannah VandenHeuvel and Tony Reddin, plus a 50/50 draw, lunch, and open stage time. All ages are welcome. Admission is by donation, with proceeds this month going to the PEI Division of the Canadian Cancer Society. For more information, phone 675-4093 or 675-2855.

3. CUBA FALL 2012

Join a 10-person group travelling to Las Tunas (near Holguin), Cuba, for a 3 week stay to volunteer, study, and tour.

Departure date Nov 17th. The purpose of the trip is to be in solidarity with and helpful to the local folks through learning about their system and volunteering our talents. Call Ruth Lacey 675-4282.

4. ThinkFirst’s Annual “I ThinkFirst!” Contest deadline has been extended!

ThinkFirst is pleased to announce the extension of the “I ThinkFirst!” Contest deadline to March 30, 2012!

We are encouraging the kids in your life to tell us how they think first before participating in their favourite activities at home, school, or play. All creative art projects are welcome, including film, drawing, music, poetry.. and more! All entrants have a chance to win FREE HELMETS for their entire classroom! Individuals and groups/classes may apply.
