BOOK LAUNCH IN CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Hosted by the PEI Interministerial Women’s Secretariat with Actions Femmes
DATE: Thursday, March 8th
TIME: 12 noon
LOCATION: Confederation Centre Public Library

This bilingual even will feature readings from Les Acadiennes de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard: Trois siècles d’action and a speech by Minister Responsible for the Status of Women Valerie E. Docherty. Everyone is welcome to bring their lunch, but coffee and light refreshments will also be available.

FILM SCREENING: OUR DAUGHTERS, OURSELVES

Join us at Cuso to celebrate International Women’s Day 2012.  We are hosting a free film presentation and discussion on Thursday, March 8 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Voluntary Resource Centre at 81 Prince Street in Charlottetown. The featured film is “Our Daughter, Ourselves” about the national volunteer programme in Cameroon.

Hosted by the PEI Coalition for Women in Government, the UPEI Political Studies Society, and the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat

All are welcome to this FREE screening of the documentary Miss-Representation to mark International Women’s Day. Miss-Representation is a documentary about the difficulties for women to obtain leadership positions and for girls to reach their full potential. Everyone is encouraged to come to the screening.

FULL MOON CEREMONY AND POTLUCK

Celebrate International Women’s Day with a traditional Aboriginal Full-Moon Ceremony and a shared meal. Participants are hoping to make it to the screening of Miss-Representation after the ceremony

CELEBRATORY WALK THROUGH THE PARK
Hosted by the Women’s Institute of PEI
DATE: February 26 to March 11
LOCATION: Victoria Park, Charlottetown

The Women’s Institute of PEI is holding a walk and an open guest book for three weeks to celebrate International Women’s Day.

To celebrate International Women’s Day and healthy-lifestyle living, all Islanders are invited and encouraged to participate in a walk through Victoria Park in Charlottetown and to sign the Women’s Institute guest book. The guest book, located at the foot of cannons alongside the Boardwalk, will be available to sign from February 16 until March 11.
